Surfing at Gurubebila

Dorian Guesthouse lies just 200 metres from Gurubebila beach making it incredibly convenient for surfers. You can walk to the shore in just a few minutes to check out the waves and enjoy the gorgeous views.

There are two local, intermediate, reef surf breaks in Gurubebila: Coconut Point and Plantation Point. It’s pretty chilled and friendly out the back and you can surf from dawn till dusk.

Coconut Point is a classic A frame point break with powerful peeling left and right for a 400m ride. Reef entry point or paddle from the sand on the right. Works best at high tide so generally sunrise and sunset. There is usually a friendly local around to give you tips on the best entry and exit points.

Plantation is more forgiving than Coconut and favored more by beginners moving to intermediate, making it a good first reef break (along with nearly Lazy Left in Midigama). Left and rights, holds up to 4ft with 300m rides.
